I'm a rokyu (white belt) in Judo, and right now my legs are fairly skinny and weak. Will my judo training help strengthen my legs much?
Our training sessions last a little under 2 hours. We spend 40 minutes on ground fighting, 40 minutes on throws and takedowns, and about 20 to 30 minutes on sparring (randori). Does anyone else have any experience getting stronger from their grappling training?
Is this training good for making my legs stronger?
Do body squats in sets of 50 or 100. If you start lifting heavy weights while trying to keep up a training routine your body wont be able to handle it right off the bat.
Reply:Yes, Judo should help your legs get stronger, 'cause when you flip your opponent you need your legs to support you, after doing 40 minutes on throws and takedowns every lesson your legs should get stronger.
Reply:Yes the training helps your legs become stronger. I also experience that first my legs is not to good in kicking in counter attack. But the past 4 months i improve my legs, just don't give up.
