When Grappling very heavy opponents like 250+, what is the best strategy? especially with the guard?

When grappling with really big guys who maybe out weigh you by 50lbs. what are the tircks? I've worked out with some huge guys. I just try to stay loose and avoid being put in any kind of hold. Its all good as long as I keep control and never need an escape. Sometimes I've had to pull guard. The thing is when pulling guard if you let them up high they can post up on you and their weight begins to suffocate you if you don't sweep. So how do you guys wrestle these giants? Anyone know good sweeps if someone much bigger has gotten high on your guard and have you chest to chest? I find it very difficult to work sweeps from that position.

Gracies always appeared to stay patient and wait for one of their chubby arms to slip free.

The big guys aren't as flexible, so it won't take much of a lock to get 'em to tap.

After that, go get the ref to raise your arm, and resume breathing normally.

Good luck!
Reply:I've never really wrestled before, but I have a black belt in TKD and I wouldn't get close to a guy who knows how to fight close like that. I would personally stay at a distance that I can still attack from and find a few weak points to strike at him with. It would be a bad idea to draw out any attack with someone like that. The trick I would pull would be simply, speed.
Reply:I can definately tell you that if the guy is 250+ you do NOT want to be wrestling around with him. Gracies do really well because if you notice, most of their matches are against people their weight class, except in early mma, but that doesnt count because people like Kimo didnt know squat to begin with on grappling, well I take that back he knew a little, enough to make Royce take a little longer to submit him. Standing up, a guy may or may not have the advantage. On the ground, if the big guy doesnt know how submissions than you have the advantage. If evenly matched, than you better keep it standing cause 50 pounds is enough to hold you on the ground while he's punching you in the face. Even the escapes they teach you are a lot harder when applied to someone heavier and knows a little about grappling.
Reply:your best defence is submission wrestling you should look for a school that teaches it.

OKAY I HAVE THE ANSWER! if the guy is chest to chest you have to :

put your right hand (thumb to index finger part) under his armpit and extend your arm and as his center line shifts you shrimp down and out in that sides direction.

try it works and it works better than just shrimping alone.its all one motion shrimp and extend your arm over your head he'll go with it.

the other is grinding your elbows into his inner thigh to distract him so you can get out. elbows to the thigh hurt alot.

the best thing for takedowns with someone whos bigger is to learn a few judo throws ... look at this past UFC. JUDO is big.

Bjj isnt all that and a bag of chips anymore. Bjj translates to "the gentle art" its too slow for the new breeds out there. mma for ground is csw or any type of submission wrestling or fighting. those are your best bets.
Reply:Try Iron Mike Tyson's surefire technique, "the ear chomper". You can also try pinching him and biting a chunk off his throat or crush his family jewels in a viselike grip or if you're not too squeamish and don't care much bout your reputation, you can every try chomping his weener off : P
