Are the Democratic front runners offering any solutions?

How does increasing taxes on upper income individuals and creating a national healthcare system solve the problems we are grappling with today?

What about federal fiscal control, illegal workers, jobs in the mid-west, energy, the trade imbalance, the falling dollar, rebuilding infrastrucure, education.

On these issues and many more, they seem to be offering business as usual.

And what about the currently Democratic controlled congress? What leadership are they displaying other than obstructionism?

Are the Democratic front runners offering any solutions?
Just because you don't agree doesn't mean that they aren't offered.

1. DIPLOMACY FIRST. Engaging in agressive diplomacy to end conflicts in the Middle East and around the world. War is NEVER off the table but it shouldn't be the 1st option.

2. Moving away from oil and setting up the infrastructure for renewable energy (we consume 30% of the world's oil, how great would it be to be able to produce our own energy).

3. Rolling back tax cuts for the top 1% (can you explain to me how can you give a refund when you're in the red)?

4. Going after employers who hire illegal immigrants and controlling the borders (and offering the law abiding ones that are here the opportunity to become part of the American Dream).

5. Making education affordable to all so that the US can compete in Math and Science with the rest of the world.

6. Offering health care to ALL Americans (I believe a Dem candidate said he'd take away all of Congress' health care if they didn't pass a similar one for all Americans...that would work for me).

7. Stopping the monetary bleed that is Iraq and instead investing that money on our bridges, roads and critical infrastructure.

8. Fiscal responsibility...the last time we saw a budget surplus a Clinton was in the White House, and the next time we'll see one is when a Clinton is back in there.

So many questions, so little time.
Reply:Yes, they are running against Bush. That's the only solution they seem to have to offer. No specifics regarding actual policies though, just that everything will be wonderful if we elect them.
Reply:Yes, they all have a solution. They want us to move from poverty to broke by sending them all our money.
Reply:No they aren't. That has been my rant since they took over congress
Reply:When has a Democrat ever offer a solution to a problem?
Reply:it doesn't but it's a start. I'd suggest the republican Ron Paul.
Reply:Neither political party seems to be doing much for me at this point in time...

However a national health care system would insure that everyone receives health care..have you watched the documentary "Sicko"..if not you should, talk about an eye opener..
Reply:Why do Republicans keep asking this? NO! It's not OK to steal our ideas and call them your own.

"obstructionism"?

I didn't realize that it was the Democrats who keep vetoing things, imagine that.
Reply:only an idiot would not want to make healthcare a top priority. people of congress get free healthcare, so why cant the rest of us? Why are some of my fellow americans like you so damn dumb? but to answer your question, yes, they are giving solutions.
Reply:Health care IS one of the problems we're grappling with today. All of the candidates acknowledge that, including most of the republicans. You're so anxious to slam the democrats that you're forgetting that all candidates, republican and democrat, should be asked about the issues you mentioned. You also forgot to ask why neither the republican president nor the republicans in congress are proposing initiatives to deal with them.

As for "obstructionism", that's a buzz word used by the righties on the radio and consequently has no meaning.
