Should I have issues with my 15 year old freshman step-daughter freak dancing?

I am having yet another battle with my wife on exactly how much ‘space’ is enough for my 15 y/o freshman step-daughter. I work at the high school my step-daughter goes to and am required to supervise every dance the school holds. Lately schools across the nation have been grappling with the issues of ‘Freak Dancing’, a totally out of hand style of dancing where the girl turns her back to a boy, then bends over and allows the boy to grab her on her hips and then grind his pants zipper into the butt of the girl while the girl gyrates on his grinding. In short it is a ‘standing lap dance’.





I have big issues with this style of dancing and have many heated discussions with my wife about it. She feels that if the ‘other’ kids are doing it than her daughter should be able to. She also states that if we tell her ‘No’ then she will just do it anyways to spite us. I think we need to tell her we don’t approve of the dance style and inform her we don’t want her doing it and why. Then it falls into my step daughter’s honesty and respect level for her parents to make the right decision.

Freak dancing is a modern dance now. Now there are different styles of freak dancing the one your speaking of isnt to common i think. Just tell her not to be too wild and trust her. I cant believe they even allow that at school. They dont at mine. Hope this helps. If u have any questions just ask.

Reply:If I were you I wouldn't really worry about it. Teenagers have been freak dancing since the 90's. Your wife is right, your step-daughter would probably do it anyways just out of spite. Just because a teenage girl freak dances, it doesn't mean that she is having sex. My best friend in high school freak danced and she remained pure until she was married.
Reply:Yes I think you should have a problem with it. It's only showing the boys how premiscuous she might be and they'll be going after her for it. You don't want your daughter pregnant at the age of 16.
