If you've seen this episode, you know that the F-302s dragged the asteroid in front of the satellite in order to have the asteroid take the brunt of the beam to give Atlantis time to get away. However, why couldn't they just drag the asteroid into the satellite itself and knock the crap out of that thing? Or the Apollo could have dragged the asteroid really fast and *really* done some damage? Or the F-302s could have attached their grappling hooks to the satellite and just turned it away from the planet? Or the Apollo could have used its weapons on the satellite? Of course, I realize if they had done any of these things, there wouldn't be the cliffhanger season finale. Any comments?
Alternate solutions for the Stargate Atlantis episode "First Strike"...?
The satellite's Shields were too strong, as was mentioned in the episode. The Shields were receiving energy from the gate, which in turn could be maintained indefinitely until the weapon gets deactivated from the other side.
Reply:If the writers did it your way, it wouldn't be a cliffhanger and Sci-Fi would have much less reason to buy another season from MGM. Since when does logic have anything to do with their cliffhangers?
