T-Rex Hunter or Scavenger?

There has been a lot of debate recently on the T-Rex, was it a hunter or was it a scavenger. Dr Jack Horner says it was 100% scavenger, which I think is ridiculous for the following reasons.

Do puny arms indicate an inability to hunt? Not a chance, if you look at T-Rex's jaws they are designed to deliver a massive killing bite. I believe it would deliver a fatal first strike, back off and wait for its victim to die from blood loss before moving in. Having large arms and grappling with prey as large or larger than itself would not make sense, the chance of injury would be too great. T-Rex may not have been as fast as some people think but certainly it was as fast or faster than most of the animals it hunted. It has sharp binocular vision, which was probably used for stalking its prey after using its large olfactory senses to find potential prey from far off.

T-Rex Hunter or Scavenger?
Yeah except if a big one fell over while running it would do itself a lot of damage. The other thing you didn't mention is that their young were pretty different looking and probably faster and more agile. Maybe they were like modern lions, with the young t-rexs / female lions chasing down the prey and the big adult t-rexs / male lions dominating.
Reply:The T Rex was probably a hunter feeding on the weak and smaller creatures .
Reply:I would think T rex is much like today's hyena. Both scavenger and predator.

There are many very proficient predators that don't use their arms/forelegs. The alligator is a good example. Having a large mouth full of big bad teeth and a strong body can compensate for small appendages.
