Muay thai???

is there any grappling and take downs in muay thai???is yes can u list some of them....and also is there any stuff like breaking bone???

Muay thai???
muay thai is a standing art form you dont really use take downs but you do a bit of grappling and the grabbling is really just to get some breath and to attack the lower and mid section with knees
Reply:Muay Thai is one of the hardest hitting and most deadly styles there is. There isn't really any takedwons in it, but there is plenty of bone breaking techniques in it. Muay Thai teaches the 8 limbs. Head, elbows, knees, shins and hands. It is a very skillfull art.
Reply:in muay thai you are allowed to clinch which is also called neck wrestling. you have your hands around a persons neck and you often deliver knees also you try to throw your opponent off balance. but as thats as far as grappling goes, no ground work and no true "takedowns"

you might be interested in san shou which is similar to muay thai but allows judo like throws and takedowns but no ground fighting. i believe san shou can use knees but no elbows

as far as breaking bones i dont thinks theres specific techniques to break bones. you might been watching too many tony jaa movies lol. but the chances of breaking bones are there because muay thai strikes are pretty strong. i believe gonzaga broke randy couture's arm with one of his kicks so you its possible to break people's bones
